Study Notes

In this section, Wendy introduces the concept of generating a substantial online income with just one digital product. She emphasizes that daily social media posting is not necessary for success. Wendy shares her personal experience of earning over 94,000 Canadian dollars in a month, highlighting that this income surpasses her earnings from two years of traditional employment. She aims to inspire viewers, particularly those over 50, by sharing her five-step formula for achieving financial freedom online, which she has successfully implemented over the past two years.

Wendy explains the importance of identifying your niche, which she defines as the specific group of people you help and the problems you solve for them. She clarifies that being an expert is not necessary; instead, one only needs to be one step ahead of the target audience. Wendy outlines three steps to find your niche: identifying what you know that others need to learn, defining who that person is, and determining if they would pay for the solution. This clarity is crucial for building a successful online business.

In this segment, Wendy discusses how to transform your niche knowledge into a digital product. She advises starting with a simple product that addresses one problem with one solution. Examples include budgeting guides or meal planners tailored to specific audiences. Wendy emphasizes the importance of not overcomplicating the product creation process and suggests that a workshop can be an effective way to create a product while engaging with potential customers to understand their needs better.

Wendy introduces the concept of a 'freebie,' which is a free gift offered in exchange for an email address. She explains that a freebie should provide a glimpse of what the full product offers and help build trust with potential customers. Wendy illustrates how a well-crafted freebie can lead to increased interest in the full product, thereby enhancing the chances of making sales. She also notes that if using a done-for-you program, the freebie is often provided, simplifying the process for beginners.

In this part, Wendy elaborates on the importance of having an automated system to manage sales and customer interactions. She describes how a capture page can be used to collect email addresses in exchange for a freebie, triggering an automated email sequence that builds trust and educates potential customers about the product. This system allows for passive income generation, as it operates around the clock without requiring constant manual effort from the seller.

Wendy discusses the critical step of generating traffic to your offers. She emphasizes that many people mistakenly believe they need to be active on multiple social media platforms daily. Instead, she advocates for focusing on YouTube, which she describes as a powerful search engine that can drive consistent traffic to your content over time. Wendy shares her experience of achieving significant sales with minimal posting frequency, highlighting the effectiveness of creating evergreen content that continues to attract viewers long after publication.

In the conclusion of the video, Wendy summarizes the five essential steps for building an online income: identifying your niche, creating a product, offering a freebie, setting up an automated system, and generating traffic. She reinforces the idea that these steps work together to create a sustainable business model. Wendy encourages viewers to take action and utilize the resources she provides, such as her Freedom Formula Blueprint, to start their journey toward financial independence.

Wendy concludes the video by inviting viewers to access additional resources, including her free Freedom Formula Blueprint and a workshop that outlines the business model she discussed. She emphasizes the importance of taking the first step and reassures viewers that they can achieve success, regardless of their starting point. This call to action aims to motivate viewers to implement the strategies shared in the video and to explore further learning opportunities.

You only need one digital product to build a $10,000 a month type of an income. And no, you do not need to post on social media every single day to do it. In the last 30 days, I have made over 94,000 Canadian dollars from my phone, from one simple system, and not posting every day. And that doesn't even include all my affiliate income, like this, like this, and this, and this. Those are just some of my income streams, and I don't say that to impress you, my friend. I say it because that is more than I made in two full years at my 9-5, and I am a grandma from a small town in Ontario, Canada. So, if that number feels completely impossible to you, stick with me because in this video, I am going to teach you my five-step formula that has helped me make well over seven figures in the online space in the last 2 years, and I'm going to walk you through every single step. And later in this video, I'm going to show you why selling less actually can make you more. And it's probably opposite to what you might think. So, lean in here, my friend. This one's for you. Hey, if we have not met yet, my name is Wendy. I am a 57-year-old grandma of three from Ontario, Canada. I retired at 55 after building a multiple six-figure income online. I started from zero with no tech skills and no marketing experience and zero followers, like zippo. And now I have the privilege of helping people in their 50s, 60s who feel behind to build a flexible income online that they can run from literally anywhere. And just a couple of years ago, I was still working that full-time 9-5. We were stupid short for retirement and honestly feeling completely stuck. Like I tried a bunch of things online. I did fail more times than I care to count, but I actually found a system that worked for me. And in this video, I'm going to walk you through how I would set things up if I were to start from scratch today as a complete beginner, no audience, and not being glued to my phone. I'm also going to show you two paths, creating your own product or starting with a done-for-you solution. Now, both of these work. I've personally done both, and I will show you exactly how. But before we dive in, grab my Freedom Formula Blueprint. It's in the description below. It's the exact road map that I used to go from stuck to being retired at 55. So, you can grab it. Let's get into this. So, let's take a bigger look at the math because $10,000 is roughly about $333 a single day. A simple low-ticket digital product can achieve that, like template, a guide, a checklist, bundles, one problem, one solution. Now, I personally have multiple different digital products, and one of them sells for just $27. I ran a simple 3-day promotion on that one product. It nearly brought me in that $10,000 in 3 days. At $27, you would need about 13 sales a day. At $37, about nine sales a day. $47, roughly seven. If you up that to $100, it's roughly three sales a day. And at $300, it's just over one sale a day. So, you can see how it works, right? The higher the purchase price, the fewer sales you need to make your income goals. Now, here's something that I want you to hold onto because this changed everything for me. You can sell a $27 digital product, you can sell a $1,400 digital product. And honestly, everywhere in between, all that stuff. Like, I know it might sound crazy, but here's the truth. It does not matter what the price tag says. What matters is that you have the right system, the right message, and you're able to drive traffic to that product. When those three things are in place, it will sell, plain and simple. Because this past weekend, while I was camping with my grandkids, I made two sales totaling $2,800 US. And I'm Canadian, so so that's like a bazillion. So, keep watching because that is exactly what this video is about. You don't need a huge audience. You don't need to go viral. You just need the right product, the right message, and a simple system. Okay, step one, your niche. But before we go any further, let me explain what that word even means cuz there's a lot of confusion in the online space. I hear it thrown around and it kind of confused me too when I first started. So, your niche is simply this. It's who you help. It's what you help them with, and why you are the right person to do that. That's it. That is your niche. The specific group of people that you serve, and the specific problem that you solve for them. Think of it like a restaurant. McDonald's serves burgers and fries generally, and that's exactly why people go there. They know what they're getting, right? Your niche works the same way. When someone lands on your channel, they need to know immediately, is this for them? Am I in the right place? The more specific you answer that question, the faster that they say yes. Now, here's what most people get completely wrong. They think they need to be some kind of expert, have a degree, have a certification, a fancy title. No. Like, a hard pass on all of that, my friend. You just need to be one step ahead of the person that you are helping. That is it. So, here are the three steps to finding your niche. Step one, ask yourself, what do I know that somebody else needs to learn? Not what are you an expert in? What have you figured out that used to confuse or frustrate you that somebody else is struggling with right now? Because honestly, we didn't get to this age in our life without learning a few things, right? Might not even be what we went to school for. Step two, ask yourself, who is that person? Who is struggling with exactly what you figured out? Get really, really specific. Think about where they are in their life right now. What keeps them up at night? What are they afraid of? What are they hoping for? The more clearly that you can picture that one person, the easier everything else in this formula becomes. Step three, ask yourself, would they pay for this? Is this a problem that they're actively trying to solve? Are they searching for answers online right now? If yes, you have a niche worth building on. Your niche is where what you know and who you help and what they'll pay for all comes together. When those three overlap right in the middle, that's your sweet spot and everything else gets so much simpler once you figure that out. So, as you're listening right now, has one thing come to your mind? Something that you know you could generally help somebody else with. Drop it in the comments, I would love to hear it. And I'm going to show you exactly how all five of these steps connect and why most people get it completely backwards. So, stay with me because this is where it all starts to make sense. Okay, step two, your product. Here's the beautiful thing, everything you just worked on in step one, you know your niche, you know who you help and you know what problem you want to solve. Well, now you can take all of that and turn it into a product. And your first product should be a very simple one, like one problem, one solution. That's it. Now, let me give you some examples so this kind of clicks in your mind. If your niche is budgeting, your first product could be a simple guide, how to budget on a fixed income, five steps to stretching your dollar further. One problem, one solution and somebody needs that right now. So, if your niche is meal planning, maybe it's a printable weekly meal planner designed for empty nesters cooking for two, simple, specific and useful. If your niche is helping people declutter, maybe it's a checklist, the downsizing starter guide, what to keep, what to donate, what to sell. You see where I'm going here, right? It's not a massive course, it's not months of building something, it's just a simple one thing that you already know in your noggin, and you're packaging it up for somebody else, right where you used to be. It does not need to change somebody's life completely, it just needs to help them, plain and simple as that. And I have multiple digital products now, but I want to show you something important before you ever start creating. Here's something that you don't hear people say often enough. One of the easiest ways to create your first digital product is to start with a workshop, because a workshop is simple. You're teaching something that you already know, you're showing up live, and here's why it works. When you run a workshop, you're not just teaching, you are listening, you hear the questions that people have, that they're putting in the comments, and that tells you exactly what to create next. So, remember that $27 product that I was talking about? That was connected to a workshop. We were teaching for 3 days, and we were listening, and when I offered the $27 VIP product for them to implement things faster, by the time they were done that 3 days, we weren't strangers anymore. They were engaged, they were learning, and they trusted me. And that is the place that most people skip, my friend, because they go straight to selling without ever building that trust first. And that is a big no-no. And if you want to see that 3-day workshop in action, you can grab it completely for free. It's called my Passion to Profits Workshop, and the link is in the description below. Now, there is a second path that you can go with digital products. You can start with a done-for-you digital product. This is how I started back in February 2024. It was a educational program. It taught me digital marketing, gave me all the products that I could resell, and make profit from. And remember, I mentioned those two sales that were $2,800? Well, that was from the done-for-you digital program. I didn't create it, I didn't build it, I didn't write a single word of it. Like, I learned from it. I continually learn from it, and I earn from it. This happened while I was camping with my grandkids. Now, that is what a done-for-you system looks like in real life. Now, I have multiple different programs. I have higher ticket ones, and they offer the most value. And those people who see it, they purchase it because of that. But the beautiful thing is, there is something for everybody. Something that will fit your goals, your dreams, and your budget. There is no reason that people cannot start. In fact, I want to share something with you. I had somebody reach out to me who was really struggling financially, and I get it because I was there. They wanted to get in so badly, but the money just wasn't there right away. They were so tight. And so, you know what they did? They sold something on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist, you know, that type of online where you can sell stuff. And over the weekend, they pulled together enough to get started. They didn't let their circumstances dictate when they could begin. They decided, "I am going to do whatever it takes." And that person has since gone on to add multiple income streams to their life, and it has radically changed everything for them. Now, that story, it gets me every time because it's not luck. That is a decision. And what I'm going to share with you next is what made those two sales possible, that $2,800 while I was camping with my grandkids sales. It happened because of what I set up. This is what so many people don't have, and this is what gives you your time freedom. So, stick with me because this, honestly, is my most favorite part. But if you do want to learn more about the done-for-you path that I'm going to talking about, you can grab my Freedom Formula Blueprint. It's of course in the description below for you. Okay, so step three, you need to have a freebie. Now, what is a freebie, Wendy? Like a freebie is a free gift that you give to somebody in exchange for their email address. That's it. Simple as that. But here's the important part. Your freebie is not just any random thing. It is a little glimpse, a little taste, a little piece of what your full product is. It gives people a quick little win, something they actually want, something that will generally help them out right now. And because it helps them, they trust you. And because they trust you, when you offer them your full product, they're already interested. They're already warm. They already believe in you. And that is the power of a freebie. Now, depending on which path you're on, your freebie can look a little different. If you're creating your own digital product, your freebie should be a small connected piece of that product that you're creating. So, let's say your product is a budgeting guide. Your freebie might be a one-page cheat sheet, your top five tips for cutting monthly expenses. It connects directly to your product. It gives them a taste of what you offer, and it makes them want more. If you are on the done-for-you path, here's the beautiful thing about that. Your freebie is already built for you. It already comes with the program. It's part of the business in a box. So, you don't have to create it from scratch, you just make it your own. So, if you click on the Freedom Formula Blueprint, you will see this, and this is my freebie, and it was completely done for me. It came with my program. And it has been one of the most powerful tools for building my email list and making sales. Because every single person who grabs this freebie, they're raising their hand and saying, "Yes, Wendy, I want to learn more." And that is where the magic happens, my friend. So, let's recap. You have your niche, you've created your product, you have your freebie. And the question becomes, where do you actually host all of this stuff? That brings us to step four, your system. Now, let me explain what an automated system actually does because this is the piece that changes everything. Now, remember that freebie? You put that freebie on what is called a capture page. When somebody finds you through your YouTube, your social medias, wherever they land on your domain, they see your freebie and they think, yes, I want that. And they pop in their name and their email address, and boom, they get instant access to your freebie. You get their email address, and here's where it gets really, really good. Like, the moment they give you their email, your automated system kicks in. It sends them a sequence of emails that are already written, already scheduled. The emails will educate them, build trust, share your story, and share how your digital product can solve their exact problem. And those emails, they do all of the selling for you. You're not chasing anybody, you're not following up manually, or sending them a DM. You're not sitting at your computer waiting for somebody to respond. The system is doing it automatically, while you sleep, while you're at the trailer with your grandkids, or while you travel. This is what we call our freedom machine. And once it's set up, it runs in the background for you, all round the clock, 24/7. The platform that I use and recommend for all of this is called system.io. And the thing I love about it, it's completely free to get started. Not a trial, not 7 days free, it's free for up to 2,000 email subscribers. So, you can get started building your freedom machine before you even spend a single dollar. I made over six figures before I started paying for system.io. And if you want to actually see what system.io is all about, you can grab the link in my description below, go check it out. And here's the part I really want you to hear. The capture page, the freebie, the website, the email sequences, all of that was already pre-built for me inside my done-for-you program. Like I didn't write the emails from scratch, I didn't build the funnel from scratch, it was all there. All I had to do was personalize it for me and brand it to myself. My name on it, tell my story, make it mine. For somebody who's not techy, that was a real game-changer because instead of spending months figuring this out, how to build a system, how to do a website, how to do a capture page, I was up and had my business running within a few days. Okay, so now you have your niche, your product, you have your freebie, and you have your system. And honestly, you can have all four of those, but if you don't have number five, you can still make zero sales because if nobody finds you, none of it matters. So this next step, it's the one that moves the needle. It's the step that actually makes the machine run. And if you get this right, everything else kicks into gear. So step five is traffic. Now this one gets me really fired up. Now most people hear traffic and they think, "Okay, I need to be everywhere, posting three times a day on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reels, Threads, every single platform, every single day." And I did that. I tried that. And I'm here to tell you, no. Hard pass, my friend. Like I was exhausted, I was burnt out from doing that, my sales were not reflecting the effort I was putting in, something had to change. And then I discovered YouTube and everything changed for me. And here's what most people don't realize about YouTube. It's not just another social media platform. YouTube is a search engine, the second largest search engine in the world, because it's owned by Google, which means when somebody types in, how to make money online after 50, or how to sell digital products, or how to build an online income in retirement, your videos can show up if that's your niche. That's mine. Not for one day, not for one week, but for months, for years, long after you hit that publish button. And here's the part that really gets me. One post once a week. Now, did you hear me? One. One post once a week. I might throw in the odd little short here and there, but that's it. Now, remember at the start of this video when I said less actually can make more? Well, here's the kicker. The same thing is true with content. I post less, I make more. One video a week, I have doubled, even tripled my sales since being on YouTube. Less is generally more, and YouTube is exactly why. And here's something that most people don't know. YouTube is like having every single platform rolled into one, right? You can create long-form videos, YouTube shorts, which is just like Reels or TikToks. You can do picture posts, just like Instagram and Facebook. So, all of it in one platform, one place, one login, and all you have to do is show up once a week. I have freed up so much of my time, and my results have never been better. Right now, I have videos that I posted 5, 6 months ago, even a year ago, bringing me in views every single hour. This is evergreen content. You create it once, and it keeps working for you. And the bonus that I did not even see coming when I first started, cuz I had no clue, I was like total beginner, newbie here on YouTube, YouTube pays me through AdSense just for people watching my videos. So, look at this. $7,235 last month alone, just for uploading videos. YouTube paid me that. So, YouTube brings them in, my freebie captures them, my emails build the trust, and my system does the selling. So, if you're sitting there thinking, "Okay, Wendy, I want to start a YouTube channel, but I have no idea where to even begin." I got you. I created my YouTube success starter kit just for you. Looks like this. It's simple, beginner-friendly, without the tech overwhelm. Grab it for free, and it's in the description below. Let's bring this full circle. So, that $94,000 month that I showed you at the start of this video, it didn't come from posting every single day. And it didn't come from chasing people and messaging strangers. While there are some repetitive phrases, particularly around the five steps and personal anecdotes, the majority of the content is focused on delivering valuable information. The speaker effectively shares personal experiences that reinforce the key points, but some sections could be more concise to enhance clarity.

Time Efficiency 7/10

The pacing of the video is generally good, with a clear structure that guides the viewer through the five steps. However, there are moments of unnecessary elaboration, particularly in personal anecdotes that, while engaging, could be shortened without losing their impact. The speaker's enthusiasm and relatable storytelling contribute positively to engagement but could be streamlined to improve overall time efficiency.

Improvement Suggestions

To improve information density and time efficiency, the speaker could reduce the length of personal anecdotes and focus more on delivering concise, actionable steps. Summarizing key points at the end of each section could reinforce learning without additional filler. Additionally, minimizing repetitive phrases and tangents would help maintain viewer attention and ensure that every moment is packed with valuable content.

Suggestions to Improve Clarity

To enhance clarity further, the speaker could include visual aids or graphics to illustrate key points and steps.
